Juniperus chinensis ‘Stricta’, this blue Chinese juniper gets its name from its closed form.
‘Stricta’ means ‘narrow, closed’ in Latin.
That obviously looks at the shape but in terms of nutrition it also comes tight. For trials with other fertilizers and peat-free potting soil, we use the Stricta as a signal plant because this plant shows well if the alternative fertilizers or potting soil will suffice.
This blue conifer is very sensitive to nutrient deficiencies.

Therefore, the large size Juniperus chinensis Stricta is grown in the open ground.
Here we make use of the fertile Boskoop soil.
In open ground the nutrients can be better buffered and are therefore sufficiently available to the plant, even in rainy periods.
Starting this week, we have the size 60-80 C7.5 available. Freshly potted of course.
Also the sizes 40-50 C3 and 50-60 C5 are still available.
These sizes are pot grown.
