Forever Young

There are needled conifers and scaled conifers… and there are scaled conifers with needles To make it easy. In scale conifers, the needles lie against the twig, in contrast to coniferous conifers, where the needles are perpendicular to the branch.
However, most scale conifers germinate with protruding needles. The crop of a seedling looks significantly different from and adult plant. Some plants do not go through puberty, their needles remain protruded. For example with Thuja occidentalis Rheingold and Fire Chief, an orange and red cultivar.
So not only the needle position but also the color of these plants is quite different.
Teddy and Anniek are the children of this family, vulnerable, but with their spherical shape for cuddling!
